The aim of Trio Sci Cymru is to understand the attitudes and uptake of the sciences by children in school years 7 to 9. Biology, Chemistry and Physics activities will be delivered either in school classrooms, on university campuses or in science fair events, and will be used as a platform to encourage the uptake of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics across Wales, while facilitating the longitudinal study of factors that influence this vital route for young people, via education at all levels, to a skilled workforce. Demonstrating positive role models is also a key part of Trio – our outreach scientists and classroom workshop delivery assistants are a mix of genders, ages and ethnicities, highlighting our mission that science is for all.
