Trio Sci Cymru is a collaborative education and outreach programme, comprising Aberystwyth, Bangor, Cardiff and Swansea Universities and is coordinated by the Welsh Government Office for Science. Trio Sci Cymru is funded by the European Social Fund and the Welsh Government.

Trio’s aim is to give children from a broad range of educational backgrounds positive informative experiences in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, with a focus on the sciences. The traditional trio of science disciplines, biology, chemistry and physics, are delivered in a modern educational framework, whereby subject elements are brought to life with hands-on activities. Emphasis is placed on sciences inter-linking, and being a common thread throughout the world around us. The activities that Trio delivers are more than just experience-based learning. We are also collecting, analysing and understanding what factors influence children’s attitudes towards STEM and specifically the sciences. Such a study is not being carried out over the whole country, rather it involves specifically selected schools, hence at this stage we are unable to deliver our activities to everyone who might be interested
